Over the years, the department has gained an excellent reputation for effective training in many fields related to the domain of information technologies.Emphasis is given to:
The department aims to impart quality technical education to the students aspiring for a career in the field of electronics and communications engineering. A wide curriculum ranging from basic Analog & Digital Electronics to EMT Theory, Communication Systems to Telecommunication Networks, Microprocessor (8085 & 8086) to Computer Architecture, Microwave Engineering to Digital Signal Processing, core VLSI design to Advanced VLSI Design, Satellite & Mobile Communication to Embedded System Design and other related subjects are being taught.
Every year, numerous professional activities are organised in the department. Industrial visits and lectures of experts from the industry form an integral part of the curriculum. Students are encouraged to become members of important professional bodies like IEE, IEEE, IETE and ISTE.
The basic departmental Labs consist of Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Microwave Engg., Circuits & Systems & Electrical Science. The other specialized Labs of the department deal with Microprocessors, Consumer Electronics & Satellite and Mobile Communication, Embedded Systems, VLSI, Control Systems, Telecommunication & Communication System.
The Department of Electronics & Communication comprises of 15 well-equipped Labs. The endeavour is to help students develop some real-life projects in different areas as per industry needs.
This is a new department started from the academic year 2006-2007 and has acquired the latest equipment for its Labs and class rooms.
In the first year, the students of all the branches are imparted knowledge of the applied sciences and humanities so that these budding engineers develop a strong foundation in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics and Manufacturing Processes.
The role of language is paramount in understanding the intricate concepts in present day science and technology. For the effective presentation of this knowledge and for the all round personality development, the students are trained in Communication Skills and personality development.
