GTBIT has a Library which is extremely rich in resources for learning, research and general awareness. It is spacious and comfortable enabling students to easily spend long hours in it.
Highlights of the library include:
- Fully automated library with Intranet facility.
- A collection of more than 30,000 books & over 3000 titles.
- Open access system.
- Book Bank facility available for the students.
- A reading room with a seating capacity of more than 100 students .
- An active subscription of 12 National & International Journals/Periodicals,
13 magazines and 16 national leading Newspapers.
- Reference and Current Awareness Service (CAS)
- An impressive collection of educational CD-ROMS, video cassettes and VCD’s.
- Internet connection for users
- DELNET facility for use by students and faculty for the purpose of Research
and Reference.
BOOK BANK FACILITY
GTBIT has a book bank facility wherein a maximum number of 6 (six) books are issued to students at a time for the whole semester. This is done to provide academic support to students by enabling them to get the latest books from the college itself, especially the books on core subjects of each semester.
DELNET FACILITY
DELNET has been in operation since January 1988 and was registered as a society in 1992. It was initially sponsored by the National Information System for Science and Technology (NISSAT),
Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India and is currently being promoted by the
National Informatics Centre,
Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and
India International Centre, New Delhi.
DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering
computerized services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible.
